Q: How much does it cost to install a head unit? Cost
A: When you buy a head unit from us, installation starts at NZD 75 plus materials (e.g., trinket trays, fit kits, looms, aerial adapters, side brackets, terminals). We first inspect your vehicle to confirm any special fit kits that may need ordering. Our workshop—right beside the showroom—handles every installation. If you bring in your own head unit, labour is NZD 95 per hour plus materials.

Q: Will my steering-wheel controls still work?
A: Some vehicle designs may disable steering-wheel functions when fitting an aftermarket head unit. Although we use the best supplier kits, manufacturer changes can affect compatibility. We’ll explain any limitations up front, but in rare cases no adapter can fully retain those controls.

Q: How long will the installation take?
A:

  • Head unit only (with steering-wheel controls): 1–2 hours

  • Head unit + factory-fitted camera: 2–3 hours

  • Head unit + aftermarket camera: 3–5 hours

A: Yes. If your vehicle needs spacers, custom cutting or extra materials, we’ll notify you of any additional costs before proceeding.

If you supply your own gear, labour is NZD 95 per hour plus materials.
